Join us Project-L3 Colloquia 3, Theme 4 (Year 2), "Spanish-American War & World War I." The colloquium will discuss underlying reasons of World War I such as: militarization of the world, the development of alliances - Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire) vs. Triple Alliance or Entente Cordiale (France, England, Russia), and the competition among colonial powers for redistribution of the world. Events, issues, and people of World War I and its impact on the American home front will be discussed during the sessions.

Participants will examine the expanding role of the U.S. on the world stage. Participants will discuss imperialism and foreign policy as they relate to the Spanish-American War, the annexation of Hawaii, the creation of an “open door” policy, and neutrality. (Integrating the arts into history)
