Ranch Life Learning: Place-Based Learning for the Elementary Classroom

Complete Attendance not available before workshop starts.

This professional development workshop introduces Ranch Life Learning with Hank the Cowdog, an interdisciplinary program from the National Ranching Heritage Center designed for elementary classrooms. Blending storytelling, history, science, and real-world ranching contexts, the TEKS-aligned program provides ready-to-use lessons, hands-on activities, and literacy-rich resources that support reading, social studies, and science. Participants will explore how place-based learning and narrative deepen understanding and build agricultural literacy while leaving with practical strategies and classroom resources to support inquiry, critical thinking, and cross-curricular learning through authentic Texas experiences.
