Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) - Engaging Students in Math - 6-12

Concrete, pictorial, abstract (CPA) is a highly effective approach to teaching that develops a deep and sustainable understanding of math in students. Our math process standards address this when stating the student will be able to use multiple representations and more. This method builds on a child’s existing understanding to support the development of abstract concepts. Come to learn how to make this connection with students' hand, body, and mind. Teachers will leave with an understanding of Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach to teaching and be able to apply the strategies in the classroom.
