Creating Problem-Solving Mathematicians Grades K-5

Do you have students that struggle with reading and restating world problems in their own words, limiting their comprehension of what the word problem is about? Do they struggle with identifying the correct operation because of a lack of knowing how to identify the context of the story? Join Jane as we look at research-based strategies to engage students in making sense of a problem before students set out to solve it. We will also discuss how to help students visualize a structure and break it down into logical steps or sequences. This workshop is offered via face-to-face or distance learning.
