Scaffolding Instruction for Secondary English Learners (Rio Grande City CISD ONLY)
Session will cover the characteristics of sheltered instruction, research in second-language acquisition, needs of English language learners, and instructional strategies to deliver comprehensible instruction through Scaffolding Techniques. Participants will receive research based strategies designed to support listening, speaking and reading comprehension in English. Ideas to build academic vocabulary in all content areas to achieve cognitive academic language proficiency in the English language.
