Making the Reading and Writing Connection

Over the last ten years research has shown that reading and writing are more interdependent than once thought. A child’s literacy development is dependent on this interconnection between reading and writing. During this session participants will learn ways to make their Language Arts instruction more effective by intertwining reading and writing. Teachers will take away pre-writing and writing activities for their students that will incorporate literature, mentor texts and reading responses.
