Building Authentic Responses *LAREDO AREA*

LAREDO AREA* If you have a student(s) with the NAAR designation, how can you make sure that you're helping your student grow? Can an academic response be built? For a student who exhibits no authentic academic response, determining the student’s current baselines may appear difficult because of the student’s limited interaction with the environment around them. Teachers working with students designated as NAAR can work to shape intentional responses. To help teachers - along with their campus team - help their students, we will cover the following topics: Establishing PLAAFPs, Building Standards-Based IEP goals and Data Collection, Working on Various Levels of Awareness, Shaping an Intentional Response, Identifying Best Practices, Recognizing Authentic Responses, Moving Beyond NAAR.

Special education teachers, administrators, paraprofessionals, special education staff, parents/caregivers, nursing staff, diagnosticians, related service providers.
