This course takes a dive into the specific way the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills are designed and organized, providing the background information about development, the review process, and structure, specifically looking at content and skills students need to perform at academically high levels and designating them as readiness and/or supporting standards. Using this information, participants are invited to engage in connecting these to content-area lesson plans, including core areas as well as electives, physical education and health, CTE courses, and fine arts. Included in this course are the various ways learning can be assessed, including portfolios, worksheets, projects, and other types of demonstrations. Participants also have opportunity to demonstrate how to develop effective lesson plans and share these with others within the course. Effective integration of technology into lesson planning is included in this course.
