Special Education Monitoring Process Overview Self-Assessment

Review & Support Division from TEA is implementing a differentiated monitoring and support system to monitor special education programs in the State of Texas. As part of this process, there will be an annual self-assessment to be completed by the LEA. This session will provide information of the process and a hands-on learning experience to help familiarize with the self-assessment.

Learning Outcomes:
(1) Be able to explain the required LEA activities under the Differentiated Monitoring System
(2) Be able to understand and complete the steps of the Self-Assessment
(3) Be able to use the Self-Assessment Rubric to determine Quality Levels
(4) Understand how to use the ASCEND platform to complete the Self-Assessment
