Effective Strategies to Access Complex Literary Texts

Day 2 of the Literacy Leaders Academy provides an overview of various forms of literary texts, such as types of fiction, literary non-fiction, poetry, and drama. This very hands-on and engaging workshop will leave participants with effective instructional strategies to enhance students' critical thinking skills and to deepen their understanding of complex classical and contemporary literature. Participants will also explore how awareness of genre characteristic and author's craft is essential for students' growth as writers.
