Literacy Centers Make n' Take

In this split session, you will start your day with a review of early literacy learning centers taken from the Florida Center for Reading Research. The focus of the morning will be on phonological awareness activities, specifically, phonemic awareness. The evidence-based practices will be shared in a hands-on learning approach where you will interact hands-on with each of the literacy centers and then you will use the afternoon to engage in a Make n' Take. By the end of the day, you will leave with at least 21 literacy centers completed for use the very next school day! Bring at least 20 gallon-sized bags to this training. You are also encouraged to bring a paper cutter with you for use in the afternoon. There will be no lamination available, so please come prepared to use the materials as presented. This training is intended only for staff currently employed full-time in a Region One area public or charter school system; appropriate for teachers grades 1 through 5.
