A Statewide Professional Development Model on FBA and BIP Strategies for Classroom Teachers of Children with Autism (via zoom)

This is a 2-day training. This training will discuss the purpose of a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and the importance of linking the BIP to the FBA. Participants will learn about indirect and direct assessments, components of a BIP, and function-based intervention strategies. As a result, participants will be better able to address behaviors that prevent students from benefiting from instruction, that impede social relationships, and that become barriers to participation in postsecondary education or employment. Participants will learn how to define behavior in observable terms, how to measure it, and how to plan intervention strategies based on the function of the problem behavior. Participants must attend both days in full. A zoom link will be sent out to registered participants.
