Exceptional Military-Connected Children: Unique Circumstances, Unique Needs

Exceptional children are defined in this course as those who qualify for special education services or gifted education services to maximize their individual potential. Participants will learn the challenges unique to military-connected students with special needs, strategies for supporting them as they transition from school to school, how to strengthen relationships with students and families, and the power of collaborative teamwork. Instructional delivery options for both special education and gifted education will be covered with special emphasis on the importance of synchronization of services for exceptional military-connected children and youth.
