Special Education Language Acquisition (SELA)

Special Education Language Acquisition (SELA) is part of House Bill 548 in which TEA is required to ensure that the language acquisition of children 8 years of age or younger who are deaf or hard of hearing are regularly assessed using a tool or assessment. Beginning with the 2020-2021school year, LEAs will be required to report the data throughout the school year to TEA. This session will discuss and review the SELA Collection process for LEA's.
