Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid Course (YMHFA)

Virtual Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders in youth. This 6-hour training gives adults who work with youth the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to children and adolescents (ages 6-18) who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. Virtual YMHFA training will be provided in collaboration with our Local Mental Health Authorities (LMHA) -Tropical Texas Texas Behavioral Health trainers. Participants are required to complete a 2-hour, self-paced online class and then participate in a 4-5 hour instructor-led videoconference session via ZOOM. Registration closes approximately two weeks before the class date at 4:00 pm.

Region One Districts and Charter Schools ONLY - All school employees are eligible including but not limited to: administrators, educators, support staff, substitute teachers, coaches, bus drivers, and cafeteria staff.
