Lyford Only** Why Be the Same...When You Can Be the Change?

This session will increase participants knowledge and skills for identifying students’ strengths and weaknesses by understanding the impact cognitive abilities have on learning resulting in several outcomes: (1) positively advocating for students with disabilities, (2) being better prepared to make informed ARD decisions to develop an appropriate IEP plan and (3) being able to promote and implement appropriate instructional practices and supports to ensure students with disabilities are successful. In addition, this session will unpack the IPI process from start to implementation and emphasize the implications of HB 4545 to ensure compliance and alignment.
Participants will be able to:
• Identify the cognitive abilities and describe how they impact learning
• Recommend and implement appropriate instructional practices
• Understand the process of IPIs to develop, implement and monitor plans effectively
• Know key concepts of HB 4545 and apply the requirements as outlined
