The PLAAFP and Its Role in the IEP----DONNA ISD ONLY

IDEA 2004 requires that students receiving special education services have an individual education plan targeting their needs. When creating high quality IEPs the ARD committee must review the student’s PLAAFP including the FIE and based on the student’s needs create goals and objectives that address the identified areas of need. Participants will understand the importance of writing a data driven, student-focused PLAAFP statement in order to develop purposeful goals and objectives and assign the appropriate accommodation/ modifications for students who need specially designed instruction. They will go through a step by step process in creating high quality IEPs.
