Structured Literacy for All Students (Laredo Area) by Dr. Elsa Cárdenas-Hagan

All students can benefit from learning the foundational skills of literacy. These include phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Teaching the five components of literacy in an explicit and systematic manner can facilitate language and literacy development for all students, including those who struggle with learning. This session will include examples and modeling of the instructional techniques necessary for implementing effective literacy instruction.
