TEA Special Allotment Monitoring Program

TEA is implementing a new Special Allotment Monitoring Program (SAMP). It’s specifically designed to focus on LEA compliance and accountability related to six special education programs listed below: 1. Bilingual Education & English as a Second Language Education (BE/ESL) – 52% 2. State Compensatory Education (SCE) – 52% 3. Special Education (SPED) – 52% 4. High School Education (HS) – 100% 5. Career & Technical Education (CTE) – 58% 6. Gifted & Talented Education (GT) – 55%. This workshop will: •Refresh your knowledge of mandated direct cost utilization requirements, and program intent codes used to calculate your three-year rolling average calculation. •Gain an understanding of how the TEA will audit your supplemental state allotments funds for regulatory compliance. •Get your questions addressed about allowable program costs and provide TEA feedback before the SAMP rolls out. •Understand how to volunteer as a pilot school for the SAMP pilot process.
