Discipline & Truancy Conference

Research suggests that school exclusion interventions which include “zero tolerance” or “three strikes and you’re out” policies do not work and can negatively affect, through suspension or expulsion, the students who are most in need of prosocial involvement at school.

Region One ESC School Safe Program has designed a conference that will encompass a variety of topics associated with evidence school-based social–emotional learning approaches designed to foster the development of cognitive, affective, and behavioral competencies to provide a foundation for better adjustment and academic performance among students identified as exhibiting disruptive or violent behavior.

School Administrators, SROs, DAEP Staff, Social Workers, Counselors, Principals, Assistance Principals, etc.
