UTRGV TRC 17 - Lesson Study/TRC Student Math Academy Day 2 (***ONLY for UTRGV TRC Members)

Participants will work in teams of 3-4 to create a learning progression based on prior lesson outcomes and plan a lesson focusing on developing GAP reasoning between 8am-9:30am. The lesson format will be the 5-E lesson cycle (engage, explore/explain, elaborate, and evaluate) and contain the attributes of NCTM’s effective teaching practices. The lesson will be delivered to a group of 20 students between 10am – 11:30am for a duration of 90 minutes. Following the delivery of the lesson, participants will debrief using TEKS, student evidences, mathematical understanding rubric, and teacher observation instrument to support adjusting the lesson and or delivery of the lesson. Participants will share out findings using evidences to all members and whole group discussions will be lead to support growth opportunities.
