Word Institute - Presentation by Donalyn Miller, author of "The Book Whisperer"

Spend a day with Donalyn Miller, better known as, the Book Whisperer, and learn the latest research strategies for teaching reading. Participants will leave the session with strategies to teach reading along with one of her books, The Book Whisperer. Ms. Miller taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade language arts and social students in Texas and was a finalist for 2010 Texas Elementary Teacher of the Year. Miller founded the annual #bookaday event and cohosts a monthly Twitter chat, @titletalk. Her articles about teaching and reading have appeared in Education Week Teacher, The Reading Teacher, and Educational Leadership.
