The GEAR UP District Leadership Teams are comprised of the superintendent, curriculum director, high school principal, high school dean of instruction, lead counselor, lead core academic teachers, and the GEAR UP facilitator. The team meets throughout the school year to develop high performing learning communities, which are integral to building the leadership and staff commitment needed for systemic change. This process is designed to enhance the leadership capacity of school personnel by utilizing a research-based, quality-driven model for ensuring that programs and policies are aligned to the stated purpose, to the diverse needs of the cohort students, and to a sold research base, ensuring the adoption of systemic practices which contribute to enabling student success in college. The focus of the Partnership's professional development offerings are to create highly qualified and effective educators who will impact student academic performance in order to ensure all students are college and career ready.
