Learning Media Assessment (LMA) for New TVIs

This training is only for those TVIs with 1-3 years experience.
The LMA is a systematic way of collecting information about sensory preferences, learning environments, and intervention materials and methods for students with visual impairments. This assessment provides the TVI information on how to best present information to students with visual impairments.
Information covered in this workshop includes:
• determining student performance on literacy media, including best options for print and/or braille, auditory strategies, and technology that facilitates learning/literacy,
• collecting sensory information for very young students and/or students with vision and multiple disabilities
• writing the LMA report
• using information from the LMA to shape IEP planning and intervention.

TVIs that are in their first year up to 3rd of teaching in the field of visual impairments.
