Drug Impairment Training For Adults Involved in the Care of School-Aged Children

This course will provide school district personnel, community members, parents, and other caregivers of school-aged children with valuable information on the current drug trends among school-aged children within the the community and in schools; review the signs and symptoms of the most common drug categories which can mimic similar signs of medical impairment; review major elements of the Texas Education Code and Texas Pena Code that will help create effective school policy to address related drug and/or alcohol use and possession in schools. This course will also provide participants with evidence-based strategies and interventions to help create a collaboration of community mental health resources for referrals to help support and address current social-emotional, psychological needs of school-aged children and their family-support systems.

All school staff (administrators, transportation, maintenance, food service, nurses, SRO, security guards, risk managers, teachers, etc.) including community members and parents and caregivers of school-aged children.
