The Region One ESC Food & Nutrition Program Advisory Council (FNPAC) has been organized as a forum for sharing information and providing guidance related to School Nutrition Programs. Chaired by Food & Nutrition Program Director and Specialists, the Council is comprised of the heads of School Nutrition Programs of all Region One schools. The council meets as needed to discuss pertinent agenda items related to the improvement of School Nutrition Programs. Meetings will serve as an opportunity for the Child Nutrition Program to solicit feedback and discuss strategies with its members regarding upcoming trainings needs, updated guidance, policy and other related topics. As well as, focus on enhancing learning opportunities through researched based curriculum, evaluate its effectiveness, build capacity through trainings and seminars, and facilitate communication between the Education Service Center and Districts. Through networking and sharing of best practices by the School Nutrition Programs, the Council can assist in engaging a learning community of administrators and directors in discussion and training that focuses on creating, sustaining, and strengthening capacity and skill set.

For the 2017-2018 school year, the FNPAC is focusing on best practices, resources, and integrated technology, to work collaboratively and efficiently within your own programs and as a network of professionals as well as a partner to the Rio Grande Valley Association for School Nutrition.
