Meeting the Needs of ELs with Disabilities: An Administrator Overview

The focus of this session is to develop a foundational understanding of the challenges that English Learners with disabilities face in the classroom.
Participants will
-understand the language acquisition stages of English learners and how learning behaviors present at each stage,
-learn the characteristics of the 13 Disability Categories, and
-consider the importance of collaboration between Special Education and Bilingual/ESL Education personnel when making instructional decisions for dual-identified students.

A team composed of one District Bilingual/ESL Administrator, one District Special Education Administrator, and one Campus Administrator.
