In this one-hour session intended for elementary staff, you will learn how to structure your Tier 1 reading block to maximize learning potential. You will see sample scenarios and begin to develop your reading schedule according to best practices. You will learn how to use data to structure your student groups. You will also learn about how to organize your Tier II time apart from your reading block time. Most importantly, we will discuss what the other students are doing while you provide small group instruction. You will then hear an ACTUAL RTI case from the field with questions and general guidance provided. To be selected to share your case, registration at least 3 days prior to the session is recommended. (All case details will remain confidential during the discussion.) The intended audience is: central office leadership (C&I, Bilingual, 504, GT, Special Ed), principals, assistant principals, and other support staff for RTI, parents, community members.
