This practical, solution-focused training focuses on working with children with disabilities who have experienced trauma. It provides information to help educators and others better understand and work with some of the behavioral effects of trauma such as abuse, neglect, medical trauma, and bullying. Explore new options for thinking about and responding to emotional and behavioral challenges in the classroom setting. This training is for educators, clinicians, and support staff in school districts and is being provided by SAFE's (Stop Abuse For Everyone) Disability Service Program, in partnership with The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health and the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, the merger of Austin Children’s Shelter and SafePlace.
