K-1 Exploring How to do the Math!

Participants will be actively engaged understanding the mathematics to be explored and make connections using different strategies solving problems in real situations. Participants will practice representing and solving word problems through the eyes of students to uncover understandings that are still developing. Participants will discuss connections in mathematics as worthwhile and important, rather than an isolated collection of facts. Conceptual understanding and Procedural Fluency will be emphasized during the session.
