Accessibility Lecture Series- Student Disability Services Best Practices & Legal Updates

This training is a webinar by disability management law firm and consulting group, Salome Hayward & Associates. Salome Heyward & Associates is a firm which for 27 years has provided ADA and Rehabilitation Act (Section 504 and 508) disability compliance services to colleges and universities. The session will include a review of the important court decisions, settlement agreements and agency rulings of the year. We will focus on the issues and concerns that continue to generate the majority of complaints and lawsuits, i.e., the proper role of faculty, the responsibility of students, identifying essential academic requirements, and the adoption of compliant grievance policies and procedures. We will also discuss significant Office of Civil Rights (OCR) and Department of Justice (DOJ) pronouncements regarding accommodation practices and procedures. This workshop is sponsored by Counseling and Student Disability Services.
