Using Starfish to Increase Student Engagement and Success

If you are not familiar with the Starfish Early Alert System, this interactive session will help familiarize you with the platform. Starfish was implemented at South Texas College in 2016, in an effort to increase engagement between students, faculty, and support staff. Starfish helps identify students who are at-risk and provides faculty an opportunity to provide students with resources to help them be successful.

This session will provide participants (whether faculty, advisors, or support staff) hands-on training for setting up profiles, office hours, raising flags, and one of the new features, taking attendance and downloading the report. Participants will also be provided an opportunity for questions and answer at the end of the session.
