Equity Through a Latino Lens: Intentionally Serving Through Data, Practice and Leadership

Dr. Eyra Perez, Technical Assistance Director, Excelencia in Education
In the past 20 years, the number of Hispanic students enrolled in schools, colleges and universities has doubled. But while enrolling Latino students is necessary, it is not sufficient. What does serving Latino students have to do with equity? For over 15 years, Excelencia has worked with more than 60 institutions of higher learning to foster equity and support the success of Latino students. This session will propose the Seal of Excelencia as an approach to spur institutional transformation for student success using data and evidence-based practices.
