Faculty Advising Certification Training - Dual Credit Edition

Faculty Advising is a crucial component of student success and completion at South Texas College. This training covers essential advising knowledge and skills that range from campus resources, advising theories, Degree Works technology, Starfish technology, FERPA regulations and academic coaching. This training consists of 7 sessions of 1.5 hour (approx.) on Thursday afternoons. At the end of this training participants will be able to advise, mentor and refer students confidently. This is an online training; sessions will be conducted via Microsoft Teams. Participants will be officially certified as "Faculty Advisor" upon completion of all parts of the training. Full-time staff that constantly interacts with students on a daily basis is highly encouraged to participate.
