MTA/ASE RLA 1B Evidence-Based Writing

This session focuses on the importance of evidence-based writing skills for both academic and workplace purposes. Participants will learn about the importance of extracting evidence from complex texts in order to enable students to develop evidence-based writing. Working with different types of source texts, participants will identify different types of evidence and strategies for teaching students how to extract evidence and explain how evidence supports a claim. Participants will receive resources for texts and various research-based writing strategies that can be used in the classroom.
