2nd - 3rd Grade Critical Thinking with Social Studies Through Literature and Questioning Strategies

2nd to 3rd Grade Teachers will learn and share how literature provides daily opportunities for developing student critical thinking skills and questioning strategies to motivate students in social studies topics. Research states that "...social studies provide students with critical thinking skills crucial for an economic and civic understanding of the world. Even in elementary school, students develop personal and political feelings starting from their own neighborhood to the world, so they must learn the relevant supporting information to become informed citizens."

2nd to 3rd Grade Districtwide. Administrators welcome.
