Honors Program Overview for Secondary Administrators

Honors courses are BISD’s replacement for Pre-AP. These courses will accustom students to faster paces and higher levels of academic challenges found in AP and Dual Enrollment courses. Honors courses promote self-discovery, personal growth, and the freedom to pursue their passions.

This workshop will provide Administrators with an understanding of the Honors Program and course expectations for teachers and students such as:
• implementing academically challenging coursework,
• working at a faster pace,
• emphasizing creative and diverse thinking,
• incorporating depth and complexity, and
• applying an overall higher level of rigor in the Honors course.
