GT Annual Update for Middle School Teachers

This workshop is designed to support teachers in meeting the needs of gifted students. It will provide participants with research-based strategies that will enable the teacher to differentiate and adjust the depth, complexity, and pacing of lessons to meet the needs of G/T students. Some topics include: the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students, Social Emotional Learning, Kaplan’s Depth & Complexity, Question Formulation Technique, and the Texas Performance Standards Project. The workshop will consist of a 3-hour Virtual Session followed by 3 hours of independent study (completion time is approximate). The independent study time will be composed of research, follow-up tasks, and an assessment. Both 3-hour workshop components must be completed on the same day. No partial credit will be given.
