STUDIES WEEKLY TRAINERS Afternoon Session: Using Questioning to Develop Critical Thinking with Stories and Authentic Student Assessment

Studies weekly trainers will address the needs of teachers to effectively teach Social Studies. Learn how to combine Studies Weekly with high-impact learning strategies to teach standards while meaningfully exploring the stories of history or phenomena of the world. Leave with at least 2 new strategies you can use immediately. In-depth training on using primary and secondary sources to engage students and identify inquiry questions to guide learning. Collaborative training on using important research-based strategies with Studies Weekly print and online resources for student-centered learning. Training on the use of differentiated assessments including: paper-pencil, online, writing prompts and student-created projects and artifacts.

K-5 Teachers and Administrators, and as always the invitation is extended to all teachers and paras for Sp Ed as needed.
