Workshop Registration Details

HB 5 requires school districts to partner with at least one institution of highereducation to develop and provide college preparatory courses (CPC) inMathematics and ELA for 12th grade students who have yet to demonstratecollege readiness. Students who successfully pass the course(s) receive a collegereadiness waiver that exempts them from the corresponding TSI assessment(s),and allows them to enter into college-credit bearing courses. As stipulated in theHB 5 CPC Memorandum of Understanding, signed in 2020 by Region Onesuperintendents and presidents of the local institutions of higher education,English and Math HB 5 CPC teachers are required to attend continuingprofessional development offerings to instruct these courses. The requiredtraining includes an initial August training or make up training, and follow uptraining throughout the academic year. Additionally, students who successfullycomplete the College Prep Course in English or Math can earn advanced coursecredit for the foundation plan in the respective content area. Each secondarycampus must follow their distri
ct protocol to offer this opportunity to students.
