AP WRITING TRAINING

Presenter:
Jodi Moreno,
English Language Arts and Reading Specialist

Training Description:
1. Close reading strategies to fully comprehend the prompt and/or passage (students who fail to read closely frequently wind up paraphrasing rather than analyzing the passages/prompt).
2. Strong opening paragraph to include a strong thesis statement (students tend to be incoherent or rambling or they use a one-sentence introduction that repeats the wording of the prompt-thesis tends to be weak)
