Talent Development of Gifted students through Extracurricular Activities

Participation in extracurricular activities has been found to have a positive influence on many aspects of children’s development, including academic achievement (Camp, 1990; Eccles & Barber, 1999; McCarthy, 2000). Advanced Academic Services offers programs that are designed for students who perform at a high level of accomplishment and demonstrate creative and productive thinking and/or leadership ability. Participants will explore the following programs: Brainsville Inventions, Destination Imagination, Texas High School Mock Trial, Poet’s Corner, Stock Market Game, and the Texas Performance Standard Project (TPSP).
