Automatic External Defibrillator and Cardiovascular Pulmonary Resuscitation (ATHLETIC COACHES ONLY)

Complete Attendance

This course is required for all Physical Education and Athletic Coaches once every two years as mandated by Senate Bill 7. The course is video-based, instructor-led course that teaches teachers and coaches the critical skills needed to manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. Attendees will be instructed to apply cardiovascular pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and on applying automatic external defibrillator (AED) on a victim. The course is a hands-on course in which attendees will be expected to practice both CPR and AED skills on a mannequin. Attendees will be expected to demonstrate mastery of skills test in order to receive credit for the course.
