Safety-Care Initial (Crisis Prevention)

Safety-Care provides staff with crisis behavior skills they need to confidently, safely, humanely, and respectfully enhance the lives of students who sometimes exhibit violent or otherwise challenging behaviors. The result can be a dramatic improvement in safety, fewer injuries, and decreased liability.

Day 1: Prevention, de-escalation, and physical safety
Day 2: physical management, and post-incident procedure

Participants are require to get approval from district administration (principal, sped director, or immediate supervisor).
Due to the physical elements of STT participants must have the following physical abilities in order to participate:
• ability to comfortably perform a series of flexibility exercises
• ability to maintain a balanced stance with feet shoulder-width apart and weight on the balls of the feet
• ability to perform three fundamental movements of STT (i.e. steps, shuffles and pivots)
