G/T Online Day 1: Understanding the Nature and Needs of Gifted Learners

Basic 30 Hour G/T Training (Day 1 of 5)
Grades K-12: In this online course, participants will learn about the cognitive, social, and emotional characteristics of gifted students through internet investigations, district information and practices, and online discussions. This workshop meets Texas state requirements for G/T basic training in nature and needs of gifted learners. To receive credit, all work must be completed by the end date. This workshop will not satisfy the requirement for the 6 Hour update.

Participants will:
1. Investigate the affective, cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and intuitive needs of gifted learners
2. Understand elements of gifted education program options, legal issues, and historical perspectives

This session is offered at no charge to members of the G/T Coop, G/T Professional Development Package and TPCP.
