Independent Contractors vs Employees 22-23

With the staff shortages and brainstorming means to hire, it is important to understand the difference between independent contractors and employees. What you do & don't know CAN hurt you! In the past years, dozens of school districts have been audited by the IRS. If the IRS determines that a district has misclassified an employee as an independent contractor, the district can owe three times the employment taxes. We will review the guidelines for determining status as an independent contractor and the issues that arise during the transition from employee to contractor for the school district or charter. Attendees are able to participate in this webinar in their district via the Zoom link provided in the registration confirmation email or can attend in person.
