Workshop Registration Details

The 4 day Educator Summit will focus on 1) “Universal Design for Learning” tool /framework designed to improve and optimize teaching and learning for all people based on scientific insights into how humans learn. Teachers will learn how the proven guidelines can be applied to any discipline to ensure that all of our learners can access and participate in meaningful, challenging learning opportunities. 2) Effective Discipline”, participants will learn the importance of an effective discipline plan in order to create /one that is clearly understood by students, teacher and parents which leads to student success. 3) “Boosting Thinking in the Classroom” explores strategies to use big ideas as tools to boost higher-level thinking. Teachers will be able to evaluate instructional sequences that situate the thinking first in the learning process. 4) “Write a Little a Lot” encourages writing in every classroom-early and often to eliminate the “oh no’ response to writing. Teachers will learn how to engage students with meaningful, authentic tasks to extend their thinking, deepen comprehension and demonstrate mastery. This training will empower students and elevate rigor with a variety of easily implemented writing strategies for all students. Presenter/Agency: Region One and S3Strategies Consultants
