Engaging Young Children in Powerful Read-Alouds for Language an dLitercy Development

Participants will explore how read aloud sessions promote children’s language, literacy, and increases their vocabulary. They will discuss components of effective read aloud sessions; such as what happens before, during, and after reading a story. In addition, they will demonstrate interactive conversations between the teacher and children. Participants will participate in an interactive read aloud session. They will develop focus literature lessons that extend the read aloud experience for children.
