#1 Title: Ringmasters of Rhymes and Alliteration

The development of listening skills is essential for young children to distinguish between words that begin and end with the same sound. Participants will explore alliteration activities that produce words with the same beginning sounds through games, tongue twisters and intentional interactive activities. Participants will also explore the skill of rhyming using nursery rhymes, books, finger plays and interactive games. This professional development session is aligned to the Emergent Literacy-Reading Domain of the Texas Pre-Kindergarten Guidelines and through research-based instructional strategies for early childhood PK3 and PK4 teachers.
