Magnificent Majestic Military Metal Meditations IN PERSON

Dr. David Oakes invites you to discover the music of the heavy metal band, Sabaton, that have been fusing military history and poetry together in their songs for almost 25 years. Each song offers the listener or viewer a chance to learn a slice of military history with songs that are at once informative, interesting and extremely moving. Having received an award for their contribution to enhancing the educational opportunities for young people, and just last year collaborating with museums around the world to turn their music about World War I into a feature length documentary, The War To End All Wars, that will hopefully draw in young people to museums and help them take an interest in the learning of history, Sabaton is a band that presents unique opportunities to capture the interest of younger generations through the medium of popular music.
